Our Story

Like many good things, Coastland started with a simple question. In 2018, born out of a desire to help students find their path in life, we asked, “What if we created a program, maker space, and retail store that taught students how to work and run their own business?”

In asking this question, the seeds for Coastland were planted and began germinating. We went to work creating the Pathways program to teach students how to work and run a business and starting a retail store starting in Carpinteria, CA, where we sold products made by students in the Pathways program and where students earned proceeds from the sales.  We have since closed our Carpinteria location and moved our programs to San Clemente to serve students there.

We hope you will consider supporting us by purchasing a few quality goods handmade by student entrepreneurs.

At Coastland, we are:

LOCAL

Every product we sell is made locally San Clemente. We also try our best to source our raw materials locally whenever possible. Coastland is committed to #retail4good

HAND MADE

Everything in Coastland is created or finished using the best craftsmanship we can. We never buy anything wholesale only to mark it up and resell it. Student hands touch everything we sell.

BY/FOR STUDENTS

Students are the heartbeat of Coastland. Every product is made by and for them with the proceeds of the sales going back to our students in the form of scholarship grants.
